Castello Frisari

Like many of the "baronial" castles in Terra d'Otranto, it was built in the Norman era, a fortress with the aim of controlling and ensuring the administration of the fiefdom.
Inside the courtyard and in its basements our wine cellar is reborn.

We look forward to welcoming you to our winery to taste our Negroamaro D.O.P. wines from Terra d'Otranto; you will discover our selection of pure Negroamaro red and rosé wines through two tastings:  

  • Horizontal tasting
  • Vertical tasting.

HORIZONTAL TASTING

Horizontal Tasting of our 3 crus of Negroamaro D.O.P Terra d'Otranto. We will discover the uniqueness of our Melissano alberello from which we produce the rosé "lacrima".
We will then compare the two vineyards in the Serre and Pianura di Terra d'Otranto areas, from which we produce two pure Negroamaro D.O.P. red wines.
The private tasting is accompanied by tarallini, friselline, extra virgin olive oil and gastronomic products from our family.

VERTICAL TASTING

Vertical tasting of the two crus of Negroamaro D.O.P Rossi.
For each cru, the two vintages 2016 and 2017 are compared and tasted, appreciating how not only the cru influences the characteristics of the wine, but also how the vintage and time leave a significant mark on the wine and its history.
The private tasting is accompanied with tarallini, friselline, extra virgin olive oil and gastronomic products from our family.
